How Do I Rearrange Bookmarks?

I have created a new folder in my Bookmarks. I want to put some previously created Bookmarks into that folder. I have tried to drag them into the newly created folder, both on the Bookmarks toolbar, and in the tabular display of Bookmarks that appears when I issue the command Bookmark Manager under the Bookmarks pull-down menu.

The most that I have succeeded in doing when I try to Manage Bookmarks is to “Sort by name” using the pull-down menu that appears at the upper right-hand corner of the page. (I can also change a bookmark’s name using the Edit command in the pull-down menu associated with a particular bookmark.)

I have tried to manually drag individual bookmarks into the newly created folder using the pointer, using the pointer plus the Shift key, the pointer using the Control key, etc., including combinations of Shift, Control, Alt/Option, and Command. The bookmarks just stay put and refuse to move.

How do I populate the newly created Bookmarks folder?

Quitting Brave and relaunching it appears to have solved the problem.
