How do I disable "CMD +Q" keyboard shortcut to avoid quitting the browser?

Hello,

I couldn’t find an option to disable the keyboard shortcut CMD + Q. Is there an option to achieve this, am I missing to find it in the settings? I looked at Settings > System > Shortcuts, and I see CMD + Q is the default shortcut and cannot be deleted or disabled. There is only an option (Add button) to add an additional shortcut for this action.

The shortcut doesn’t ask for a confirmation to quit the browser. This is really so annoying and I see it as a broken feature as I have to reopen the browser and reload all my hundred tabs I had open previously.

Expected result: CMD + Q should not quit the browser anymore or it should ask for a confirmation to quit.
Brave Version: v 1.63.169

Can anyone please let me know if this issue can be resolved in any way? Thanks in advance!

I think I found the solution for this issue.

  1. Launch Brave browser

  2. Click on Brave from the top left menu bar

  3. Check (✓) Warn Before Quitting (⌘Q)

  4. From now whenever you click ⌘Q, the browser should ask you with a pop-up message “Hold ⌘Q to Quit”. Hope this helps others.
