Description of the issue:
All of a sudden when I open brave browser it keeps creating new windows instead of defaulting to my single window. I don’t know if this is a new feature it just suddenly started happening and I would like to disable it. How can this issue be reproduced?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Brave. Can you confirm how many Windows open when you click the link in an external app?
Did you see the same behavior when you set a different browser to be your default, then click a link on an external app. Do you see two or more windows open when a different browser is set to default?
First Alice I’m really appreciative of your response and willingness to help.
When I click a link from an external application it will open the window from whatever was last used. So the normal behavior right now is there is always at least two windows open and if window #1 has five tabs and window #2 only has one empty tab I cannot get rid of window #2… If there are three windows I can sometimes merge window #3 to window #1. Sometimes when I have three windows open and I try to switch to window #1 with the five tabs it will instead open window #2 and window #3 in split screen mode not letting me access the window I wish to, #1.
I just attempted to set Chrome to my default to examine the behavior as you asked and the behavior does not change. It behaves the same as above. For example right now I just tried to switch to window #1 while in window #3 And it actually crashed and closed brave.
Is it possible to disable this window feature? Frankly it’s not something I will ever use and it seems to just be a frustrating experience.
You know that’s kind of strange but I don’t have any of those options? In settings I have “Homepage” And that’s the closest thing I can see. I know those options exist on desktop but I don’t see them on mobile?
Thanks for your reply we appreciate the details. Could you kindly update to the latest Brave version? Then please enable or disable “Closing all tabs closes Brave”. Under “Brave Shields & privacy”, please disable “Close tabs on exit”. And at last, create the tab groups you need and then with Android split screen try again to open external app links.
My system updated the browser and I’ve not noticed the behavior since your last reply. I assume it was a bug related to the version mentioned in my post.
I’m currently on version 1.46.134
I will respond again if the behavior exhibits itself again.
