captcha pages on support site a broken and never validate
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
visit support.brave.com and you are presented with a “hcaptcha” to view it. Click “I am human” and two similar captchas challenges are displayed in a loop, boats or planes. The captcha never validates no matter how many correct answers, it will say “checking browser” for a few seconds then present you with a new captcha in an endless loop. So I cannot view support.brave.com (I am human)

Every time

@Utidiysyisitdixoxohd,
Thank you for recaching out to us with this. I’m not entirely sure why you’re seeing the Captcha. On my end, when I visit the site on Windows and macOS, I land on the site right away without the need to fill out any captcha. Are you on a VPN or using a virtual machine by chance? Additionally, do you have any extensions installed at this time?
Update: I think it was due to that session having a private window open. I thought it was strange too that it would never validate just to view the support site but once I closed the browser, restarted and turned off shields/private windows the site displays without captcha. It may be the circumstances that force the captcha to be displayed won’t allow you to actually pass the challenge. Answers were correct multiple times but was denied. Weird issue but I was able to figure out how to get around it. Thanks.
@Utidiysyisitdixoxohd,
Just to check, can you try visiting the Help Center with Shields on in a standard tab and tell me if you’re prompted to complete a captcha?
Shields seem ok, no captcha. It seems to be ‘tor’ window. What I guess I didn’t realize til now is once you launch that it opens a different session, so all tabs opened in that session are tor. This is why I thought one tab was causing it, in fact all tabs were affected. Once I restarted the issue went away.
@Utidiysyisitdixoxohd,
I see – thank you for confirming and I’m glad everything is working okay now.
