Google Meet doesn't have background blur on Brave only

Can’t have blurred background on Google Meet.

  1. Go on Google Meet, create an instant meeting and get in.
  2. A message pops out in the bottom left saying “Something went wrong and your background can’t be blurred.”
  3. The button for background blur is gone also.

Version 1.18.70 Chromium: 87.0.4280.101 (Official Build) (64-bit)

It used to work. I tested on Chrome and it works. On Brave it doesn’t work. Waited for an update to see if its fixed. After launching with Version 1.18.70 it still doesn’t work.

Apparently Google has introduced “non std features” into its websites to break Google sites for any browser except for Google Chrome.
Nothing that can be done about Google locking you into Chrome for Google sites…

Guess I’ll need to switch to Chrome every time I’m in online class. Ugh, that sucks. Thanks for replying.

It appears that Google try to keep as many people on their browser, but I think the antitrust law will come to end this ”Google Domination”

Not really :)))
But I hope to have the freedom to choose what I want without losing some features
