Screen sharing not working in Google meet

Can’t share my screen, a window or a tab in Google meet.
I have hangouts enabled and using Win 11 Pro.

My Brave details
Version 1.34.80 Chromium: 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I am not an expert, so please provide step by step resolution. I have looked at the other options and not able to resolve the issue.

My screen share stopped working too in Brave!

Same here. The “choose which monitor to share” option does not show up any more. The screen sharing button becomes greyed out, and nothing is happening. This works fine in Firefox.

Fixed, but I am not sure how. I don’t remember what exactly I did, but it included:

  • turning the hangouts extension off and back on
  • disabling hardware acceleration

For me, it got solved by updating the brave browser.
My current version is
Version 1.37.109 Chromium: 100.0.4896.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)
