Brave android keeps crashing when clicking on search bars

When searching for a term on google we are presented with a results page. Often, on the results page, when clicking on the search bar to change the searched term, brave closes (no crash message). Reopening brave opens the browser where I was left, but reloading all pages.
This also occurs sometimes with search bars on other pages, such as amazon

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.48.164

Mobile Device details Xiaomi mi 9T, android 11, MIUI 12.5.2
