I’d like to format my laptop, however, I do not see an option to backup this month’s BATs. I recall a phrase that you could copy to paste into your new brave browser after, say something like a reformat of your hard drive. How can I backup my BATs?

@Pete3, the phrase backup is no longer available.
That just connects your wallet to the browser and not the BAT that are currently on it.

Why was it taken out and how may I back them up so that I can format my computer and don’t lose my BATs for the month?
sorry, but I don’t know how to do that, I once tried to copy my profile located in C:\Users\yourUser\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default and overwrite the new installation but it didn’t work, maybe if you do it before enabling the rewards (so any wallet is created) 
you could give it a try but I wont promise anything
Thanks. Yeah, I might just wait until I get paid out to do the reformat at this point. Thought I could go some other way. Weird that they delated the option to backup your BATS…

We are discussing re-implementing a more familiar backup system. At this time, the best way, as @Pete3 stated, is to verify your wallet, then reinstall Brave (after reformatting) and link the new installations wallet to that same Uphold account.
And it’ll remember the BATs from that reformatting browser?

Yes if you verify your wallet w/Uphold first you should see your funds in your Uphold account immediately. Then verifying the new Brave installation wallet will display the balance you have in your uphold acct (on the Brave Browser card).
