Description of the issue:

Programs that used to open links in Brave no longer do so.
Discord, Lightshot, Gyazo.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. DISCORD: click on in-line image or url link in message. Nothing happens.
  2. LIGHTSHOT/GYAZO: capture image, click on “open link” button. Nothing happens.

Expected result:
these normally go to a new brave tab in my browser. or open brave, if it’s not open.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.38.111 Chromium: 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Windows 10… Brave is set as default browser. (it’s the only one i have.)

recently updated the addon “Don’t close window with last tab”.

seems identical to unsolved/unreplied problems:

anybody have a guess as to what is stopping the links from going to brave, or brave from accepting/opening them?

okay, this fixed it:

1: Disable “Don’t Close Window With Last Tab”.
2: Restart Brave. External Links work.
3: Re-enable “Dont’ Close Window With Last Tab”.
4: Restart Brave. External Links continue to work.

why? i have NO idea!

Can you show me where you’re seeing this particular setting (Don't close window with last tab)?
