Even after keeping my setting on "Open the new tab" my broswer starts from where I left and sometimes open another tab along with those previous tabs

Description of the issue:
Recently I am getting this new bug where the tabs i left opened before closing the browser opens when i again start the browser, I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature but I would like to turn it off. Hopefully my description makes sense.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Got to Get started
  3. Click on On startup
  4. Select Open the New Tab page
  5. Then open few tabs
  6. And close the browser without closing the tabs
  7. After that reopen the browser

Expected result:
I expect it to open just a new tab and not the previous tabs like the other browsers.

Brave Version ( check About Brave ):
V1.34.80

@AnTic,
I’ve seen this happen from time to time. Do you have any extensions installed at this time?
Can you try clearing your cache/browsing data (Settings --> History --> Clear browsing data) then relaunching the browser and test to see if this helps?

Yes I have few extensions installed, do i have to disable them to fix this?

Sorry for the long wait time on this.
If you’re still having the issue yes, I would test this behavior after disabling your extensions and check to see if you get the same results.
