Drag drop of URL to desktop fails for certain sites (macOS)

Description of the issue:

While I’m able to create URL shortcuts on my Mac desktop by dragging the URL from the URL bar to the desktop for most URLs this operation consistently fails for certain sites/URLs - no shortcut gets created. Here are some failing URLs:

(Most URLs/sites work just fine including e.g. https://community.brave.com/top?period=weekly)

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Browse to the given URL in the Brave browser on a Mac desktop by copying/pasting one of the provided problematic URLs
  2. Left-click on the “View Site Information” icon to the left of the URL and drag to the desktop or any open folder in the Mac Finder

Expected result:

A MacOS shortcut to the site should be created in the destination Mac folder.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.75.180 Chromium: 133.0.6943.126 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Additional Information:
I’m running on MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2
The problem happens irrespective of Shieids Up/Down or public/private browsing
The same functionality works in Safari

My experience: I have to select all of the URL address in the URL address field . . . place the mouse arrow tip within the confines of that highlighted selection . . . press the mouse button . . . and hold that condition . . . there . . . for a couple seconds . . .

And then drag to the destination folder or the Desktop.

The resulting file at the destination, is a WEBLOC (web location) file, the contents of which (you can read, using an improved text editor, such as BBEdit for the Mac), example:

IF, somehow, under other circumstances, I need to create a WEBLOC file, I use BBEdit to create a new XML file, enter all those lines, but substitute my website of interest’s URL address. In other words, I use what you see above, as a template.

Sometimes, I edit an existing WEBLOC file, in order to reduce the length, reduce the trailing garbage characters, and thus produce a Clean URL Link.
