Description of the issue:
Disabling “Show autocomplete in address bar” is no longer disabling autocomplete.
Steps to Reproduce:
With “Show autocomplete in address bar” disabled, type “amazon.com” into address bar. Close tab and open a new one, type in “am”.
Actual Result:
String is autocompleted to “amazon.com”
Expected result:
Nothing should happen, because “Show autocomplete in address bar” should be disabled.
Reproduces how often:
Every time.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Android 11;Build/RZKS31.Q3-45-16-8-19
Brave 1.66.110, Chromium 125.0.6422.60.
Additional Information:
I suspect that this is actually related to the “invisible” autocomplete that I reported before-- Search is going directly to page in history instead of searching
Except now it’s actually showing the autocomplete.
Unfortunately, this makes the browser completely unusable for me, because typing one thing and seeing another is too disorienting. It’s actually the only reason I was using Brave instead of Chrome in the first place.
