Desktop url files open incorrectly

Description of the issue:

Brave use to open .url shortcuts just fine but now it doesn’t.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
Doubleclicking on shortcut opens the webpage

Reproduces how often:
Every time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10, Brave 84.0.4147.105.
Additional Information:

This is just one of MANY URL shortcuts I have saved in various folders and none of them work so it’s not the formatting. Firefox, IE, EDGE, and Chrome all open them correctly.

But if I create a shortcut using the Chrome extension Save Tabs as Shortcuts the shortcut opens fine in Brave.

The properties of the shortcuts I create the traditional way in Windows looks like

The properties of the working shortcuts created via the Chrome extension look like this:

Notice the traditional one reads simple “URL file” whereas the shortcut created by the extension reads “Brave HTML Document”, the first having the regular .URL extension the 2nd has the .HTML extension, which is understandable but Brave used to open the .URL shortcuts just fine.

Is there a setting in Brave I might have accidentally changed that could cause this?
