Default settings when using “Search” feature in iOS

Description of the issue:
After downloading the latest update when I use the search bar on iOS the browser starts with default settings, therefore not properly blocking ads and saving history even in private only mode

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Every time I use search with Brave as default browser both on iOS and iPadOS

Expected result:
Brave loads with my settings as it happened until a couple of days ago

1.73
Downloaded from the Apple Store (official)
Mobile Device details
iPhone and ipad on iOS 18.1.1
Additional Information:
For “Search” feature I mean the built in iOS feature, activated by swiping down on the Home Screen. This feature allows you to make research with the default browser

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”), above, in order to specifically include:

  • Brave Browser version for iOS device
  • Brave Browser version for iPadOS device

And state the source for your “downloading”

And define “the search bar” - being specific per device, are you using the:

  • Brave Search field?
  • Brave Browser URL address field?

And remove this portion:
