Using brave browser and setting Google as default browser doesn’t work as intended, it still uses Yahoo as default search engine. Even typing in google.com for searching, redirects to yahoo.com searches. Just type www.google.com in url bar and it loads google.com and search something, redirects me to yahoo.com search no matter what. I used various malware /spyware tools such as malwarebytes, and spyhunter and still does it.
Try disable all your extensions then re-enable it one by one. Most likely one of your extension’s the culprit.

Thanks, it was an extension called “Image Downloader” which I can no longer find in the chrome store. Once I disabled / removed it… google search works. Thanks again!
