Critical Issue: CleanMyMac Makes Brave Unusable After Cleanup

Subject: Alert regarding incompatibility between CleanMyMac and Brave browser

I would like to inform you of a serious issue encountered with the latest version of CleanMyMac, which appears to significantly damage the Brave browser. After performing a system cleanup using the “Smart Scan” feature, Brave becomes unusable, crashing immediately upon launch. The only solution is to reinstall the browser.

Even when conducting a manual cleanup and specifically deselecting any Brave-related components within CleanMyMac, the issue persists, causing Brave to crash once again.

I contacted CleanMyMac’s customer support via email, but the team seemed to be discovering the issue based on my feedback and could not provide further technical details at this time.

I would not use that product.

IF you choose to try that, be careful during installation, because there is a selection that allows installation of Google’s Chrome browser - and the selection is ENABLED by default.

I use CCleaner for Windows OS, but I have not yet, for the Mac. Because I am familiar with the Mac and know where to clear cookies, cache.
