On my bank’s page for example https://eki.cib.hu/
Brave does not offer to save my credit cards, nor does it offers to autofill.
It always worked in Chrome.
Shield Settings:
Payment settings:
Save settings:
On exit settings:
Cookie settings for the page:
All permissions are default for the page
I even have shields turned off for that url
Works or worked?
Only asking to clarify as if you’re just referencing that it worked in the past then we don’t know if it might be working well for you now.
Most likely the metadata tags used denote some other type of text entry or they have autofill disabled for it. Unfortunately I can’t seem to navigate to anything on the website you have shared so I can’t toy with things to find anything specific going on.
Don’t think so, because Chrome always recognized it.
(Plus it’s one of the biggest banks in the country, would be a really terrible mistake from their part)
@Highvoltage as I asked in my last reply, are you basing this just on something from a long time ago or have you recently tested?
And I guess what I should also have asked is if you tried it anywhere else? Like if you go to Amazon or some other website does it allow you to pick a saved credit card or end up offering to save?

It is working currently in Chrome, cause i just switch back to it when this happens.
In Brave I have tried to fill the from many times with copy/paste, and it does not even offer me to save the details.
Yes, there are other payment forms that autofill my cards, and then there are some that don’t.
So it’s weird. If it works on Chrome then it should work on Brave. Let me also confirm:
-
Are you using any extensions? If so, do you notice any changes if you disable them all?
-
If you were to create a second browser profile by going to the hamburger menu
→ More Tools
→ Add new profile
and go to the website, does it give the option there?
The purpose in the new profile is that will do a secondary profile with no extensions and with the bulk of your extensions to default. If it works there but not in the other, then at least says it’s profile specific.
Guess could also ask if you have the same issue if you were to install Brave Beta or Brave Nightly in addition?
Oh, and do a favor, can you confirm which specific version of Brave you’re using and which Windows version (like Windows 10 or 11) you’re on as well? It’s just good to have confirmation rather than anyone having to make assumptions.
I’m going to also tag in @Mattches in hopes he might have some other ideas when he gets back. Hopefully you also will be able to respond with the additional tests/info as I mentioned before then so he can perhaps have better insight.

Thanks!
I have tried that New profile thing earlier for another problem, but did not help. I have zero extensions enabled anyway.
Ever since i posted this, on two occassions I have payed on other sites, and Brave remembered my card details. So this problem seems very specific for that CIB page…
Which is bad cause it’s my bank, and i have to do most of my payments through that site.
Brave
Version 1.77.97 Chromium: 135.0.7049.84 (Official Build) (64-bit)
So it does seem to perhaps be a web compatibility issue then. And I’m not sure if it’s the site’s fault or something within Brave. I know I tagged in @Mattches a bit ago, but since it’s been some days without a response let me also tag in @steeven and @Evan123 from support as well. Whether they can offer direct assistance or internally ping someone to look into it, at least will see what they can do.
Btw, to get to what you’re seeing, you have to be logged in don’t you? If so, it might be harder to test as it would kind of require someone to have an account with the bank.
What may be helpful is if you can Inspect Element where it shows for you to input credit card and see what it shows up as. That is, right click where they tell you to fill in your credit card and the click Inspect Element and see the section that’s highlighted. For example:
In particular just wanting to see if it says name=addCreditCardNumber
but it may be helpful to know what else is on that line.
Thanks, i will do this next time i have to use the site!
