So a few days ago I suffered a security breach. A RAT virus copied the whole Brave-Browser folder and, even though I recovered all of my accounts, I wondered if any Credit Card info can be stolen if they have the folder.
I tried using the backup of that folder earlier and I saw that no credit card numbers were shown, only the expiry date and the name, but as I’m sometimes paranoic I was wondering if it’s the same for everyone ?
Most of the data that’s stored is encrypted on the device. So even if someone copies the folder, things like passwords are generally kept safe. As to the rest of the autofill, I’m not quite sure. I’ll hope @fmarier might be able to field this. I tag him because he’s a security engineer with Brave. I’m assuming he’ll have the best answers.
