Crash occurs when using vertical tabs and attempting to pin a tab that's part of a group

Description of the issue:

When using vertical tabs, attempting to pin a tab that’s part of a tab group will cause the browser to crash.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Ensure that vertical tabs are enabled.
  2. Create a new tab.
  3. Add the tab to a tab group.
  4. Right click on that tab and click on “pin.”

Expected result:
The tab is pinned.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.68.128 Chromium: 127.0.6533.73 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
This only appears to be an issue when vertical tabs are enabled. I can’t seem to reproduce it otherwise.

I second this :point_up_2:! I am having the same problem both in Win 11 and Win 10 with Brave
Version 1.68.131 Chromium: 127.0.6533.73

@steeven @Mattches I was able to replicate this. I was trying to upload and share crash report for you guys, but something screw seems to be happening with that… After crashed, had the following:

But after hit Send Now and exit Brave, it vanishes.

This happens on:

  • Brave Release: Version 1.68.134
  • Brave Beta: Version 1.69.129
  • Brave Nightly: Version 1.70.30

In all cases, it never lets me see the Uploaded Crash Report ID as the crash in the log just vanishes.
