“Continue where you left off” does not work properly

System: Windows 10 home
Brave Version: Version 1.60.110
Chromium: 119.0.6045.105

Description of the issue:

“Continue where you left off” startup option is not working properly.
Recently closed tabs won’t automatically restore when relaunching Brave browser.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open 5 web sites with 5 tabs respectively.
  2. Close Brave Browser by clicking the “X” icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Then relaunch the browser. Only the default tab is opened.
  4. All the tabs that were opened in the last session are not reloaded.

BUT
If the following is done, then “Continue where you left off” still works.

  1. Open 5 web sites with 5 tabs respectively.
  2. Close Brave Browser by clicking the “Exit” icon under the TOOL menu (the three dash icon).
  3. Then relaunch the browser. All the tabs that were opened in the last session are reloaded.

Question:

Why do “X” and “Exit” browser closes cause the “Continue where you left off” feature to behave differently?

When will Brave IT fix the issue? None of the tips help to recover tabs open when closing Brave Browser anyway possible, when re-launching the Brave Browser it still even thought the settings are checked to continue… BRAVE BROWSER will NOT “Continue where left off” when it is re-launched, it only opens one tab: home page for almost entire year of 2023! Are there other private browsers that function properly, better than Brave?

Take a look at the following post. I followed the suggestion in that post, and the problem was gone. And now I cannot even reproduce the problem anymore. :grinning:
