Cmd + \ shortcut unknown behaviour

Description of the issue: I’m using the Benchling app from within Brave. This app uses the keyboard shortcut Cmd + \ to insert new days within the notebooks, which I do very often. Since moving to Brave I can no longer use this keyboard shortcut as it simply removes the focus from the window. I’ve replicated this in different machines running MacOS and also in a machine running Linux (using Ctrl+\ in this case).

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Sign in to benchling.com and load a notebook
  2. Press Cmd + \ (on Mac) or Ctrl + \ (on Windows/Linux)

Expected result: If shortcut were working as expected, a new day entry would be created in the Benchling notebook.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 1.35.104 Chromium: 98.0.4758.109 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information: This shortcut works as expected in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome in the same machines.
