Clicking issue (again!)

I recently started having trouble in clicking some links.

Here’s an example: If I go to https://link.springer.com/journal/403 then none of the links “Find a Journal”, “Submit your manuscript”, “Editorial Board” etc are clickable.

Trying to figure out something, I found several posts about this problem in this community since at least 2019, in different operating systems. So it seems that this bug has been around for a long time and wasn’t solved yet!

Brave Version 1.68.134 Chromium: 127.0.6533.88 (Official Build) (arm64)
MacOS 12.7.6

@SirShack not really a bug but something that does need addressed. I tagged in @fanboynz before but he never seemed to respond and the issue exists, so guess hasn’t resolved. I’ll tag in @Mattches as well just so he can perhaps guide it through.

The issue is as I said at another topic on this:

Disable Shields and you’ll see thing appears on screen like below:

It’s this banner that’s blocking access to the page. Shields is blocking cookie consent notices but Springer has built to try to block access when that happens. So they just have to adjust the filter for it.

@SirShack until they resolve that, a person just would have to disable Shields to get the prompt and then Accept all cookies. Once you do that, can enable Shields again and everything will work.

Yeah I believe @Saoiray is correct here. I think @fanboynz can take a look and fix this so that you don’t need to drop Shields at all.

@shivan @Yuki2718 I tagged Fanboynz on Unnavigable Web Page - #2 by Saoiray 17 days ago that reported this issue and now second person shared issue and I tagged again last week. Unfortunately been no reply or fix since then. Not sure if he’s just too busy or what’s going on, but figured I’d tag you two to see if either might be able to help on adjusting the filters for this?

Problem is if haven’t accepted cookies on the site, then navigating to it leaves all links unclickable and you can’t navigate through anything. The only way to get it to work is to turn off Shields so that the cookie notice appears and then to accept it.

I added a possible fix: https://github.com/easylist/easylist/commit/6a41b7f588663d94a82315cbd76f2f8e64ccec07 At least I can interact with the site by this fix, tell me if you hear any other problem.

Thanks @Yuki2718. Seems new enough hasn’t landed in browser yet but manually adding has it working. Am sure will hit for everyone with in the 24 hours. You’re awesome.

EDIT
Shoot, @Yuki2718. Sorry, just a heads up. It worked on the main page but then getting to like https://www.springernature.com/gp/open-science/about/the-fundamentals-of-open-access-and-open-research it went back to the original issue. So that fix seems to only hit the main page.
