Citicards loops after timeout and attempt to log back in

When atttempting to log into citicards to look at account information, the web page continuously reloads.

To reproduce it, you would need to have a citicards credit card and an account at citicards so you can log in, perhaps to check your balance or look at your statement.

  1. The home page loads correctly: https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/home
  2. At the top left, click “my accounts” which attempts to laod the link //
    online.citi dot com/US/ag/mrc/dashboard
  3. The browser bar displays online.citi.com/US/ag/sign-off?sessionTimeout=True and loops for a long time, reloading over and over, until finally it loads https://www.citi.com/login?loginscreenId=inactivityLandingPage
  4. And there is now an opportunity to sign in again, which succeeds. But when the page automatically logs you out after a timeout period, you have to click the “my accounts” link again and it starts looping again. Chrome does hot exhibit this behavior, nor does Safari.

I don’t have a login to test, can you try adding the following into brave://adblock

citi.com##+js(acis, tmx_post_session_params_fixed)

Does that help?

If not, does changing any shield settings (ads/trackers, cookies, fingerprinting) help?

Oddly, this morning, after fighting it for two weeks, it works fine. It headed into the loop but came out after just two page loads. If I see the issue again I will try your suggestion.

Thank you,

Some banking sites have anti-bot checks, like if you move you mouse away from the tab it’ll detect this.
