I want to add a bookmarks button to the toolbar (I don’t want to add the bookmarks toolbar) as I can in Firefox. How do I do that, please?
@JohnBradford in the top right of the window there is a settings menu–three horizontal lines. There in that menu you’ll find the option to add the bookmark button.
I should mention it’s the not the menu button in the corner of the community forum, but towards the X to close the browser.

Without a doubt
I’m really sorry, I’m clearly being very slow here. I can’t find anywhere in the settings the option to add a toolbar button. Not in the initial drop-down menu, nor in the settings option, nor in the advanced settings.
Thanks for your prompt replies.
@JohnBradford I guess holding Control + Shift + B displays the Bookmark Bar. The link to the Bookmarks page is:
brave://bookmarks/
I have a bookmark Icon just left of my URL bar. I used it to bookmark that link, and now I have a Bookmarks Button next to a Settings Button. Hope this helps.
Thank you. I can see that that will work, but it’s a bodge of a fix.
I want to add other buttons to the toolbar, as I can with Firefox - history, new page, favourites, print.
I also want to open new pages as a new window, not as a new tab, again, as I can with Firefox.
It’s a shame, Brave is definitely faster at loading pages, but not being able to edit the toolbar is a dealbreaker, so thanks, but no thanks.
The menu at the top right has those functions, but I hear you–it’s a different user interface. I’m getting used to it.

agreed 100%. the new system is crap imnsho. it wasnt broke - quit fixing it.
Im gone
Well I’ve searched and searched the menu at the top right for those functions but I’m blowed if I can find them.
Where are they exactly?
I wonder if we’re seeing the same thing. I have the following options in the menu:
New Tab (Control + T)
New Window (Control +N)
New Private Window (Control +Shift+N)
New Private Window with Tor (Alt+Shift+N)
I’m speaking of the menu at the very top right of the window. (Again, not the Community menu, which looks the same.) When you hang your mouse over the menu, it’ll say Customize and Control Brave. Three horizontal lines:
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your patience!
Yes, I’m in the same place, but I can’t see where I can add new toolbar buttons onto the toolbar, as I can with Firefox. Show me!
New brave user as of yesterday. Really liking it so far, good job.
But, I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t figure out how to customize the toolbar. Customizing an app’s toolbar is basic, nearly ubiquitous functionality. Is there really no way to add/remove buttons to/from the toolbar? Or move them around, add spacers/separators, etc?
And what’s the deal with the bookmark icon to the left of the location bar??? I’d love to get rid of it, but apparently can’t.

Hello… So what’s the deal here is there a way to customize the toolbar, adding and removing or change it. I would like to know this as well, thanks
