Captcha Verification After every Google Search

Description of the issue: Recently after every new google search I need to do a captcha verification and this is getting really annoying, if this persists I’ll have to delete brave. It just prompts up every time before showing results.

How can this issue be reproduced ?:

Just search on google and it prompts you.

Expected result:
We have detected automated abuse of Google likely coming from one of your Chrome extensions.
We suggest you review and disable suspicious Chrome extensions

Try after clearing cookies and cache.

  1. Type brave://settings/clearBrowserData in the address bar.
  2. Time range → All time.
  3. Select Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files.
  4. Clear data.

If clearing cookies and cache doesn’t resolve your issue, check whether using Standard fingerprinting protection will resolve the issue. You can do that via brave://shields.

  1. Type brave://shields in the address bar.
  2. Fingerprinting blocking → Standard.

Still Persists tried both, the fingerprint is already on standard, clearing cache doesn’t help either .

Could you please test whether you can use Google normally in a private window with all extensions disabled? Usually a private window doesn’t come up with any extensions, but users can manually enable extensions for use in private window, so please open a private window and make sure no extension is available.

You exposed your IP address in the picture… Delete it unless you use a VPN or else hackers can DDOS you

Are you using a proxy or VPN?

Lastly, please test whether you can use Google normally with a fresh user profile.

Still the issue persists.

  • Does the issue persist if you disable Brave Shields completely via the Brave Shields icon in the address bar when you open Google?
  • Is the issue reproducible in other browser, please check if you have other web browsers installed.

I was actually facing the same issue a couple of months ago,

I found out that there was a virus in my pc and it was doing something with my browser. After running an anti-virus test, it removed the Virus and it worked fine.

I used BitDefender (Free Version) if you want to use it…

  • Issue persists even when Brave shield is disabled.

  • Doesn’t happen with other browsers, Tried with chrome and edge , I have same extensions on chrome.

Type brave://settings/security in the address bar and make sure Use secure DNS is disabled.

I use McAfee, system is free from any kind of virus.

McAfee is a bad antivirus, I had planted an antivirus in my Virtual PC and it couldn’t detect it…

I am just talking about my experience… It may still be a different problem for you.
