@Chuck send to device just shows a notification to click on. Best way is just to view open tabs. For example, notice in the screenshot here on History it shows both my current device and then iPhone? I can see the tabs there on my iPhone from my desktop and open it here.
Guess long story short, the send to device never has been that good. Just reference open tabs or I would bookmark, as it works quicker and better.
@Mattches do you know if there are any improvements on the roadmap? I haven’t seen anything but figured I’d tag you in to see if you know anything. Main issue is as you see in the screenshot below, where they want multiple tabs rather than just one.
Just returned to this and realized I was stupid. I didn’t pay enough attention and was seeing the Cannot send multiple tab or whatever and was thinking it was Brave saying it. But if I paid attention, was the topic of the tab being sent. This is what I get for multitasking. Sorry.
That said…can’t send tab groups or windows, right? Just one individual tab at a time?
If only one link was sent, then something wron may happened with sync.
It is possible to check it through brave://sync-internals page both on desktop and mobile, the statuses should be green on both devices.
But I cannot explain why the first link was sent and received successfully and the 2nd wasn’t received at all, something went wrong.
Yeah, I initially saw wrong on what I was saying. Silly me was seeing the title of your topic and was perceiving it like it was some warning from Brave, so I initially phrased wrong. But there indeed does still to be some issues. I just sent 5 tabs from my iPhone to my desktop. Then when I opened Brave on my desktop, only one of the tabs came through.
Just experimenting with my iPhone and Desktop, here’s what I’m noticing:
If the browser on my Desktop is closed and I send multiple tabs from my iPhone, when I open Brave on my Desktop it will only have one of the tabs come through.
If the Desktop browser is open, the first tab sent will have a notification that will stay open for a while. However, if I send multiple tabs from my iPhone to my Desktop, the newer sent tabs will cause the notification to change and the earlier sent tab never appears.
To give an example of what I tested. Just now from my iPhone I sent a tab from hianime.to to my Desktop. Then I sent a tab from google.com. Before I could even manage to send a third tab, the notification on my browser shifted from telling me I had a hianime.to tab sent to telling me I had a google.com one. If I clicked to open it in a new tab, it opened hianime.to but the google.com one never opened and I no longer had the option to open it.
Of course, if you are there to click within a matter of 10-20 seconds or so of getting the sent tab, then it will appear like Alexey showed in the video, one after the other. So it kind of is a race against time.
The same happens to me. So looks like an unimplemented function, maybe something to be used just once, to send a single tab, without the possibility (as i would use it) to search something with the phone, send my tabs to the PCs and close them on mobile.
Just tested again. Completely exited Brave and got away from my PC. As watching a TV show I sent Reddit → Porn site → Comick → Brave Community
When commercial came on, came to my PC and opened Brave. Notification alerted me that tab was sent, it was for Reddit. I said to open it. After that, nothing. So all the others never arrived.
@Chuck to circle back to what I was saying though, I got too used to just bookmarking things or leaving open. Then I just see it in the bookmarks or open tabs from other devices. It’s worked smoothly and I kind of like it better than the send to device thing.
I’m keeping the tab open on the phone until I go to pc. The other way around works flawlessly, getting notifications from all sent tabs. I don’t know about sharing between the two PCs since i didn’t try to verify and I turn them off, but I could try to close a window with multiple tabs and check if they will show in other devices tabs after that.
Hi there frem. The send to “my” devices includes a log-in flow, and it causes a change in the cadence. There is a solution but its a bit of work. Firat thougg, i saw you were running the nightly build, just keep in mind that if Brave official is running with nightly, they arre still both "Brave Browser, and thats alot of traffic. You need the “open-iin” extensiion, and ckear, different $oath’s set forbyour brave (desktop) clients, just in case. That will help. The next atep is to remember to 1.send. 2 relload the page
