Description of the issue:
Brave browser won’t keep me logged into web sites after I close it. How can this issue be reproduced?
It happens every time after this latest update. So just open the browser and
go to one of the web sites that I want to stay logged into and you will see that it requires me to log in each time.
It has happened before with other updates to a lesser degree. This time it is
for every site. Surprisingly, there have been releases where it worked like it should.
Expected result:
Brave should keep me logged into a web site if I want .
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.42.97 Chromium: 104.0.5112.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
os is mxlinux 19.4 with AMD 64-bit cpu
@SaltyBanana FYI, I also have been having similar issue, though it’s not on “all sites.” Websites where I keep getting signed out despite me having selected options to remain signed in:
https://www.icloud.com/mail/
https://publishers.basicattentiontoken.org/ even if I bookmark after signing in,
https://brave.mytaprewards.com/
https://twitter.com/ (Occasionally stays logged in, but was logged out when I checked just now)
I know there’s been others too, but I use those most. But Reddit, Brave Community, Gmail all seem to keep me logged in without me ever getting signed out.
Honestly most other sites I use don’t have accounts or are extra secure where there’s no option to remain signed in. So wouldn’t be able to give feedback on the rest.
And, as can see, not like it’s chosen to delete when I close. Haven’t gone through and deleted cookies or any of that either.
I brought this up to Luke last night during the Community Call. Not quite sure what’s driving the behavior but it definitely is annoying.
I’m on Windows 10 Pro, using Version 1.42.97 on the device where this seems to be happening the most.
It is something that happens to myself as well that I have not pinpoint what exactly is the cause . It might be the matter escalating this issue for further investigation.
Have you made a ticket to Github by chance?
