Browser defaults to dark theme every time I restart

I run macos 10.14.4 with the default light theme. When I set brave to “Same as MacOS” or “Light” it shows with a light theme. However, whenever I restart the browser, it starts up with the dark theme. In settings, it still shows either “Same as MacOS” or “Light” but in the dark theme. If I change the theme to Light or Same as MacOs (whichever it isn’t) it changes back to the light theme until I restart again.

I can reproduce this every time I start the browser up again.
