Browser areas grayed out, images not always loading

The browser started acting weird since yesterday. Areas of the browser UI are not rendering properly. Also, there are errors in web page rendering: images not loading, styles being off.

Are others experiencing similar problems?

A quick effort, to see if it will work . . .

Quit all your applications.

Go here:

/Users/your_user_shortname/Library/Caches/

and move the “com.brave.Browser” folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

Try Brave Browser.

@alizbazar,
I haven’t seen any other users reporting this type of behavior recently. To me it looks like a Hardware Acceleration issue, but it would be weird for it to just show up all of a sudden.

Worth testing regardless – can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue? You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

It may also be one of the extensions you have installed – does disabling your extensions stop the issue?

@Mattches this just started happening to me too on:
Version 1.27.109 Chromium: 92.0.4515.115 (Official Build) (arm64)

after a long while using brave. Mysteriously, turning off Hardware Acceleration fixed it though not the ideal solution
