For the past few months I have noticed Brave browser using a ridiculous amount of RAM. WIth only one new tab it uses 2gb of ram, and with any reasonable amount of tabs can use up to 6-7gb! What even is this?? There are huge amount of processes called “Brave Browser Helper” with (renderer), (gpu) or nothing after. This is obviously some huge memory leak, and is making brave unusable. I have disabled hardware acceleration as suggested on reddit, but I cant think of anything else to help. Please, I want to use brave but this is a huge dealbreaker for me.
Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?
You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

- Do you have any extensions installed?
- Are you using Brave Rewards?
- Have you tried clearing your cache/browsing data?
