Brave does not automatically display a pop-up window in the browser address bar offering to translate from Italian to English – when it should.
When trying to manually translate the page by going to [Right-click > Translate to English], it displays an error message saying “This page couldn’t be translated”.
Screenshot A (showing “This page couldn’t be translated” error):
@PDC I tested and also was able to replicate. Originally I went to other sites and it wasn’t able to detect language. As soon as I reported it though, all the other sites seemed to start detecting language again. So I feel bad having contacted Mattches as I did. I know something does seem to be broken, but perhaps it’s just within the site.
I do want to let you know that in the dropdown box under Translate Options in the screenshot you shared, you can choose Page is not in Detected Language and then you can choose the language it’s in. So this is in Italian.
I just wish I could remember other sites I tried. Unfortunately I did in private window and didn’t save links, lol. But everything else I’m trying now seems to work. So yeah, sorry about that @Mattches. But guessing this might just be a web compatibility thing?
@PDC,
Than you for reporting.
I’m seeing some super weird behavior for this site as well. At first the homepage did not translate when prompted, but going to any of the other pages would translate just fine. But then after refreshing the page (by going back to the homepage), it would no longer translate any pages.
Was able to get this to translate properly on other browsers as well.
