Description of the issue:
After sync v2 rolled out in public, I was very happy. But it is not working as expected.
Steps to Reproduce
Start a sync chain in a computer
Connect a mobile phone to that computer
After sync try to browse something in computer or add a bookmark, it does not appear instantly on mobile. Clicking “Recent Tabs” on mobile also does not show recently viewed tabs of computer.
Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain:
Computer: Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit
Mobile: Android 10 Xiaomi A2 Lite
Additional Information:
Please make this stable (it is stable already) and quick. I’ve moved from Chrome to here very earlier. It should have at least the fast sync as chrome sync.
Hello,
I seem to face the same problem as you; newly opened tabs on dekstop not visible on mobile and vice versa.
Me too I am on mobile Android (11) and desktop linux (arch linux).
When you state “very slow”, do you imply that in the end the history is synced, or does it never show up?
Just wondering…
Desktop Version 1.16.72 Chromium: 86.0.4240.183 (Official Build) unknown (64-bit)
Mobile Version 1.16.74 Chromium: 86.0.4240.185
Hello again,
Now I have sync working!
Turned out that on mobile, Settings, Sync, Categories, only had Bookmarks set to ‘on’. Now ‘Sync everything’ is set to ‘on’ and it’s working as expected. Nice!
Recent tabs have only ever synced once in my case, immediately after I added my phone to the sync chain. Some time after that, it’s stopped syncing; on my phone (in ‘Recent tabs’) the synced tabs only show some open tabs from the desktop but not all. Even tabs which do show up in the list are many hours, sometimes days, out of date.
