Brave shows old versions of pages - probably too much caching

Brave very often shows an old version of some page, which was recently changed.
Such as Youtube Watch Later list or Netflix page (offering already played episode instead of new one).

Happens on two different computers.
Other browsers (Firefox, Chromium) work fine on those same pages.

Have a recent version ( Version 1.3.115 Chromium: 80.0.3987.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and previous ones. Linux.

@illich,
Does refreshing the page resolve the issue though?

Yes, it does. But that’s not a solution. It should not happen in the first place.

@illich,

It wasn’t being offered as such. I just wanted to confirm that refreshing the page produced the correct version of the web page. There are a good number of things that may cause bad cache data to build up in the browser. Given that this is one of very few times I’ve seen this specific issue, the cause for this is likely related to your system/setup. Can you tell me:

  • Does/can this happen for all sites, or is it specific sites that are affected by this?
  • If you visit a site using a Private browsing window, do you get the “correct” version of the desired site?
  • Do you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
