Brave Shields not blocking sites from opening ads in new tabs

Description of the issue: Some sites will open ads in new tabs that Shields doesn’t block. When I download uBlock, it blocks them entirely.

Exact URL of the website in question: It’s not just one site, it’s many.

What OS are you using when you see the ad? Windows 11

It works fore me… no ads on Brave, shields works as it should.( win 11 pro)

tpi.li is one, clicking anywhere on the screen will open a new tab, but the domain is usually blocked. When I turn on uBlock, it no longer does this.

Ensure shields, ads&trackers=enabled.

I have the same issue. This is a great site but also has very aggressive ads. It literally by passes everything Brave stands for.

Hello fanboynz , any update on the invisible full page ads on this particular website, blocking of right click, and the new tab ads that constantly open up?

I’m talking about a specific issue. A full screen invisible ad cover where you are unable to click on any button on the page essentially rendering it unusuable.

My brave is up to date and 3 days after your post, last night, we had a nightmare trying to watch the boxing show with the most disgusting por . N ads popping all over my 120" projector screen with family watching. This is a big problem now.

Here is another site that is using the same full screen invisible ad technique. You cannot even right click to block element. Anything you do, even trying to start or pause video, or interacting with menus would just open a NEW TAB ad. Not popup like the 2015 era. This is an ad opening inside a new tab and switching my control to the new tab.

Please help block these specific ads. Here is the boxing page link:

Probably the streaming websites that you choose - and they do not work as you wish - require that you NOT block ads:
