Brave Search Bar Highlight and Drag Issue

Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

Description of the issue:
After typing something in the search.brave.com search bar, if you highlight text and drag the mouse out of the search bar typing focus is lost. If the mouse doesn’t leave the search bar while dragging focus is retained.

The functionality differs from how the brave browser address bar and community.brave.com highlight/drag works, but mainly it is just a bit annoying :).

Thanks for everything you do!

Brave Version (check About Brave):

I logged in just to search if this was a known issue.
I will second it, and, in my opinion, it is far more than just a “bit” annoying.
It needs to be fixed.

This is very annoying. There is another issue post down below with “focus” in the title. It is making brave search unusable. I’m surprised more people haven’t been complaining.

Unfortunately, this still seem to be an issue for search.brave.com. If the cursor is not already in the search box before trying to highlight, then the whole line will not be highlighted. So you have to click in the search box and then click and highlight.

If you try to just click and highlight, it either doesn’t highlight anything at all, or will highlight a small portion and then stop. This is on Firefox/Windows.
