Description of the issue: After typing something in the search.brave.com search bar, selecting text with the mouse by click-dragging can result in no text being selected if the mouse drag goes a little bit beyond the text and off the input text field.

The functionality differs from how pretty much every implementation of highlight/drag works in all other software, and it’s very irritating.

I’m having the same issue and I believe it only started recently. It makes the Brave Search difficult to use. In fact, it took a day or two of typing to no effect, then slowing down and retracing my clicks and drags before confirming what OP states. I have this issue on Windows 10, and Brave Version 1.32.113 Chromium: 96.0.4664.45, also Edge Version 96.0.1054.43. It seems to be browser agnostic and a feature of the web site’s search box interface.
