Brave running extremely slow

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Brave routinely takes forever to load websites, youtube will spend minutes buffering on the lowest quality setting, and webpages routinely time out.
  2. I re-installed the browser, disabled hardware acceleration, disabled all extensions, computer scan shows no virus/malware, cleared cache, cookies and history, disabled/reenabled shields and still have not solved the problem.
  3. Internet connection is very fast and other applications run fine.
  4. I don’t have an exact date but the problem started occuring about 6 months ago.
  5. Windows 10 Pro, 21H1, build 19043.2130.

**Expected result: Would like a solution that will ensure Brave ran like it used to on my desktop. Otherwise will have to switch browsers.

**Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave is up to dateVersion 1.45.118 Chromium: 107.0.5304.91 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Brave. Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings one more time, to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

Good day! - I have tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration and it did not fix the problem.
