I am currently residing in Japan and when I try to verify it asks that I use bitflyer. However, since I am an American it is not possible to set up a bitflyer account (I am assuming because of FATCA stuff, but I really don’t have a clue). Is there are a way to get verified to get brave rewards besides through bitflyer while in Japan? It seems silly that I am forced to verify through a service that doesn’t allow Americans to sign up.
If you are planning to reside in Japan for a couple of years, you may not have other solution than using BitFlyer. There should be a way that you prove your resident status with them and get your account verified.
If you are in Japan temporarily, keep accumulating the rewards in the browser and get a custodian wallet once you are back in US or anywhere else.
Unfortunately the way Brave designed the regions limitations is not compatible with the reality of 21st century where people travel consistently. They treat each country as a bubble and assume that if someone is connecting from there, then resides there and speaks their language.
But, that’s what they have to offer.
I’ve been living in Japan for 6 years and have no plans of moving.
Like I said earlier, Bitflyer doesn’t allow Americans to sign up. I have tried.
So, basically no point in me using brave rewards it seems like. Just utterly ridiculous.
