Trouble Linking New Bitflyer Account

I live in Japan and was successfully using Bitflyer and receiving BAT every month. However, they periodically request KYC information updates. I missed the deadline to update my KYC, so Bitflyer had to close my account for compliance/regulatory reasons.

I disconnected my Bitflyer account from Brave Rewards.

Bitflyer said I was welcome to sign up again with a different email address, which I did. KYC is verified, and I’m ready to use it to receive BAT again.

However, when I tried to connect Brave Rewards to my new Bitflyer account, I got this message:

Error: Different account
Hmm, it looks like your Brave Rewards has already been verified with another bitFlyer account. Please try verifying again using your previous account.

How do I get Brave Rewards to “forget” my old Bitflyer account and let me link the new one?

Additional Info:

  • OS: macOS
  • Brave Version: 1.45.118 Chromium: 107.0.5304.91 (Official Build) (arm64)
  • VPN: Tried with VPN on and off. I got the same error message both times.
  • Supported Region: I’m a resident of Japan.

@thedlkr you’ll need to complete a Rewards Support Ticket and have Brave remove the old info on the back end.

VPN never matters in terms of linking to a custodial partner. Just a FYI.
