Brave keeps crashing / closing randomly
- I have already disabled hardware acceleration but no change
Brave Version(1.39.120)
What version of Windows are you on?
Do you get any error messages?
Is any antivirus or other security software installed?
Do you have any extensions installed/enabled? If so, does it still happen with them all disabled?
Is anything set in brave://flags ? (Anything with a non-default setting will be sorted to the top, and will have a blue dot next to it.)
Brave crashes if its window is inactive after 5-10 min … It started about 15-20 days ago.
Win 10 x64
No error messages.
Avast
No extensions
No flags.
If you run winver what version of Windows 10 does it show? (e.g., 1909, 20H2, etc.)
Can you disable Avast temporarily and see if the problem happens? I wouldn’t suggest doing any browsing during that time, but since you said it can happen when it’s inactive, this should be harmless as a temporary test.
Also, Brave 1.39.122 was released today; plz update to that version first if you can.
