Description of the issue:
When using Amazon, it pastes my email address into the search field, again and again. Started immediately after I upgraded to
Version 1.52.129 Chromium: 114.0.5735.198 (Official Build) (arm64)
I’ve turned off autofill in my password manager.
I’ve cleared my cache and cookies.
Doesn’t happen in Chrome where I have the same password manager.
Turned off autofill in Brave preferences as well.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Go to Amazon.
That’s it.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
It puts my email in the search box, if I delete it, it lets me search then returns.
Expected result:
That it doesn’t put my email in the search box.
Reproduces how often:
every time.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Version 1.52.129 Chromium: 114.0.5735.198 (Official Build) (arm64)
running Mac 12.4 on a Studio
Additional Information:
Thank you.
@sethgodin .
Definitely shouldn’t be doing that.
You might want to try clearing cache/browsing data for amazon and test again to see if the issue persists. Visit Amazon, then Lock icon in address bar --> Site settings --> Clear data
no luck, but I gave it a try…

Did you also try clearing Auto-fill Form Data? I.E.
1) Go to brave://settings/clearBrowserData
2) Go to the “Advanced” tab.
3) Select “Time Rage” as “All time”.
4) Select “Auto-fill Form Data”. [DO NOT select Passwords, as this will wipe all your passwords on all your devices if Sync is on.]
5) Press the “Clear Data” button.

@sethgodin ,
@PDC makes a good point — I misread your original post and thought that you’d already tried that but if you haven’t you certainly should. Do note that it will wipe all your autofill form data from all sites.
I’m afraid that that’s too much wiping out…
I guess it’s back to Chrome until there’s an upgrade that might fix this.
thanks all
