I do not use Tabs as substitutes for Bookmarks. Keep it lean.
Most often, I limit the number of open Brave Browser windows - keeping that number below 8.
I recommend NOT using Brave Browser as the default Internet browser, and NOT using more than 3 extensions.
I set Brave Browser to open to a blank page, so Brave Browser starts up, un-burdened.
The only time that Brave Browser has been s-l-o-w, is when there is some component updating in the background, or there is some kind of network issue (usually all the way back to some websites servers and that website’s authors).
Over the years, I have found Brave Browser to be a problem because:
Brave Software or Brave Support have created a new problem when fixing some other problem.
Having said that, Brave some times jumps on fixing the new problem . . . but other times, Brave is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w at responding to a problem.
Yet, most at Brave are devoted to trying to fix things "and not muck it up."
I favor the Brave Browser because of the security - and the Brave strategy to provide same. Brave Browser is “my default browser” BUT NOT SET TO being my computing devices’ default browser.
I have become accustomed to the troubles that Brave Shields pose - frustrating the appearance and performance of some websites . . . but I take that as part of the struggle to favor security over convenience.
And, where Brave Browser may not get the job done, then I fall back to Firefox (with 1 extension aka add-on aka plug-in): uBlock Origin.
If a person wants to protect their information and maintain a secure path, then a lot of study plus trial-and-error will be on that path.
Overall, I try to NOT beat up Brave Software . . . except a little on this one occasion. Because I want Brave Software to proceed toward “getting it right,” and I prefer that they not be too discouraged.
Over time, I learned how to set up Microsoft Edge to mimc Brave Browser. Yet, that is the same old story of study plus trial-and-error regarding every single setting.
Security requires such self-discipline, IMHO.
