Brave doesn't update

Brave doesn’t update. I’m given the error:

“An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x80070057 – system level).
Learn more
Version 1.21.74 Chromium: 89.0.4389.72 (Official Build) (64-bit)”

Followed Brave page stating download Brave direct not from Github. Unistalled old version. Installed new version. issue persists. I have lost all of my earned rewards for this months due to the new install, and I have yet to receive earned rewards from last month.

Suggestions?

2 days go by and not 1 reply from a support member. It wouldn’t be so bad as this is the only place someone is to go for support.

Time and time again, people are not getting the rewards they earned. I followed the advice from Brave’s own help file for trying to fix a browser issue that wont update and in the process i lose ALL past rewards I earned for the month of March so far and have yet to receive the nearly 15 BAT I earned for February.

This browser team needs to serious get their act together! What a mess!

Thank you for reporting! Please DM with the following information:

  • Copy/paste your Wallet ID (found on brave://rewards-internals)
  • Your OS and Brave version (first three lines in brave://version)
  • A screenshot of your Rewards panel in Settings --> Brave Rewards.
