Brave does not start after most recent update

Description of the issue:
Brave does not start after most recent update

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Multiple profiles are setup, and have open tabs.
  2. Choose “Update Brave” from the menu.
  3. Brave crashes on restart
  4. When running on command line, I get this:

Interestingly, I do not have sysctlbyname executable either, so if it is trying to spawn that process, that would explain the error…

Expected result:
Brave updates and restarts.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
(I can’t start it, so I’m not sure where else to get this new version it just got…)

Mac OSX version:
Catalina: 10.15.3 (19D76)

Re-installing from downloading the dmg and following standard steps to install gets it to start up again…
