Brave deletes all cookies on exit

All cookies are deleted on exit.

This problem just started in the last day or two (now: 7/21/21)
No changes or updates have been made for a long time.
Has worked fine for months (years even).

In “Cookies and other site data”:
“Clear cookies and site data when you quit Brave” is OFF
In “Clear browsing data”:
Is set to “Basic” and “Cached images and files only”
Is NOT SET to “Cookies and other site data”
The problem started with version 1.7.92
I upgraded to Brave version 1.26.77 (for Linux)
SAME PROBLEMS

In addition, you also need to check the other two categories:

  • Advanced
  • On exit

Especially the “On exit”

Category “Basic” applies to: When you intend to click on the “Clear data” button at the lower right, in the Clear browsing data > Basic window.

Category “Advanced” applies to: When you intend to click on the “Clear data” button at the lower right, in the Clear browsing data > Advanced window.

Category “On exit” applies to: When you exit / quit the Brave Browser on your computing device. Thus, the “Save” button at the lower right, in the Clear browsing data > On exit window. You are Saving the state of the switch positions you have chosen (in the On exit window) . . . in preparation for when you Exit / Quit the browser.

Thank you, I unchecked all the check boxes under “On exit” and that appears to have worked.

However,
All the check boxes under “On exit” had been checked, had not been modified for many months, while everything worked as expected. I assumed it was because “Clear cookies and site data when you quit Brave” was Disabled and that that setting took precedence over all the check boxes under “On exit”.
Somehow, something changed. But it works now. Thanks again.
