Brave Crashes on Startup in 2023

I have been using Brave for a long time with no issues whatsoever. However, just yesterday, the after opening the application on my computer, Brave would immediately crash only after a few seconds of being opened and with nothing being done on the browser. When I start Brave again, it prompts me if I want to restore pages because Brave did not shut down correctly.

I am aware that this issue was prevalent in 2020-2021 based on all the support tickets, but none of the solutions in these tickets have worked for me.

Here is what I have tried so far:

  1. Restarting machine
  2. Uninstalling and reinstalling
  3. Disabling cards
  4. Disabling news
  5. Making sure all the Brave flags are in default settings

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
Brave Version: 1.50.121
I have no browser extensions installed.

Do you have your device synced with any other devices?

I’ll tag @sampson to have a look.
Also I’ll suggest installing Brave beta / Brave Nightly to check if same behaviour is observed there. If so then something in your system is doing this, probably not related completely to brave. If the other Brave versions don’t work either, it’s a bigger issue.
