Whenever I load Brave browser on my Core i3 laptop, the fan immediately starts spinning noticeably.
I switch to Microsoft Edge and that never happens.

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration
in settings to see if this resolves the issue?
You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
Hi
Maybe your hardware acceleration is enabled at brave://settings/system
Hardware acceleration was enabled. I disabled it and will see how it does. Thanks to all that replied with help.
Didn’t help. Fan still spins up with HA disabled
I have observed this occurring at the occasional website, even when I’m not expecting my browser to be running recurring code at all. In other words, I’m expecting a static page.
This tells me the web server is sending Brave something which requires significant processing power. Brave rises to the task, heating the processor, and causing the fan to come on within seconds, often on high.
Community: If you observe this, please post the URL of the offending website! Perhaps then Brave’s programmers can determine what code is being sent, and work on ways to mitigate the issue.
