Description of the issue:
Brave lags almost a full second doing most tasks, like opening a new tab. Gets the spinning wheel. This is on a 2020 Mac M1.
It does this despite disabling all extensions.
Unusable.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Use Brave with a Mac M1.

Is it laggy on launch? (as in cannot get to a site) or does it take a while to get to a laggy state? If you are able to, can you please send a screenshot of the built in Task Manager in the browser? To do this, go to Menu Icon → More Tools → Task Manager.

It’s laggy when opening a new tab, opening a new browser and also laggy when interacting on some sites.
What do you mean by this:

What is it exactly you want to see of the task manager?
This seems to be an issue with Brave stats or the sponsored crap that Brave is launching on New Window.
The new window takes forever to load.
Is Brave minining coins or something like that?
