Brave browser not behaving normally and a strange icon has replaced the Brave icon

Description of the issue: Browser not functioning normally and I have a photo of the weird looking icon on my desktop that replaced the standard Brave icon. It is not letting me close out a new window and it is not loading several of the sites of redirecting me it’s just not behaving as it was

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3. I have downloaded the browser again and plan to uninstall the old one to see if that will work

see this picture what looks like a notepad icon right between my email and Nordvpn icons has replaced the Brave icon

Expected result: I would like to get to the bottom of what happened and get it back to working as it originally was which was great!

Reproduces how often: It is acting weird like this all of time now

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu): Windows 10 Brave
Version 1.58.135 Chromium: 117.0.5938.140 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: What is going on and why does that icon look like a notepad icon now? How can I restore it back to it’s original state

First try restarting your pc…if not, atleast explorer.exe by finding windows explorer in task manager…right mouse click and choose restart->>>>>> Make sure you are not performing any file transfer operation at this time cut, move, copy, paste…etc

Next, Follow this below method if brave browser closes upon itself on launch after few seconds

Open a new private window first using your taskbar brave’s jumplist shortcuts

keep it in opened state and then choose New window using the same jumplist method
