Additional information:
I’m using Windows 10, version 22H2, build: 19045.3930
Installed without admin rights (work PC).
I’m not able to disable extensions before it crashes.
@DanishDude,
Thank you for reaching out.
Can you try launching Brave in a fresh profile from the Windows command line and see if it still crashes? You can use the following command (just hit “enter”) to do so:
It does indeed open a brand new profile (I see no bookmarks and no extensions loading). But disabling the GPU doesn’t change anything. It still crashes.
Thank you for the information. Reaching out to the team to see what else we can try. In the meantime, one last thing we can try that might help narrow things down is to download the Beta build of the browser and see if this version also crashes on startup.
Note that you can download, install and run the Beta without overwriting or effecting your current install in any way. It will essentially just run as a separate browser entirely. You may uninstall it after you’ve tested as well if you’d like.
